02:49 am - Ticking over Not feeling terribly eloquent at the moment, so my LJ time is going to reading and commenting rather than posting. If anything, I'm retreating to TV from my youth through the means of BitTorrent, which is my excuse for enjoying The Lenny Henry Show from 1987 and 1988 rather more than perhaps I might. (Someone uploaded The Ghosts of Oxford Street, the Channel 4 1991 special, as well. The theme tune thereof is as groovy as I remembered.) I do have some thoughts on bigger issues running through my head; for instance, someone linked to a defence of structural economic inequality that I found considerably more convincing than I thought I would do. No link yet, because I want to tie it in with some other thoughts I've been having at some point.
Unrelatedly, this sleep mask looks like it might be rather better than sleep masks I have tried and struggled with in the past, and the government's Neighbourhood Statistics web site is a pleasantly detailed way of trying to get some sort of feel for an area from afar.
Accordingly, as a cheap mindless filler, the gorgeous dezzikitty assisted me in a soft drink review a while back. After trying Diet Coke with Lime, I had a go at Diet Coke with Cherry. It has a strong and artificial bouquet smell to it, reminiscent of fruity fizzy drinks from Dad's generation like sarsparilla. The taste is considerably more tainted with cherry than Diet Coke With Lime is flavoured with lime, to the point where the fruit makes a decent fist at knocking out the artificiality of the sweetener. You're not here for the review, though, you're here for the silly pictures; on a scale of

What?! Diet Coke with Cherry rulez my whole existence! You only slightly preferred it to Diet Coke with Soap?!
What bizarro world is this???
(...but I guess you can be forgiven since you have adorable picture usage.)
She looks more than a little skeptical at your abilities to run such a test. Or does she have a fear of Diet Coke? ;)
What is the sleep mask for?
Still, I would go with Diet Coke w/ Cherry over Diet Coke w/ Lime... :-)
I'm mostly amused by the look on Meg's face. But then again, I'd look like that if anyone suggested drinking Diet Coke of any stripe...
Between Meg's look of horror and Chris's sour face--well, it must be love. :D
I would say that I fear for their children, except I don't. I think they'll be awesome parents. Awesome parents who can teach their children to make all sorts of odd faces. Yep. So says me.
I agree. And they'll have cute southern/english accents. :D
hee! It is much safer to stick to my policy of no soda ever. Unless it is fizzy unflavoured water. *hates soda*
See, now, I really like Diet Coke with lime, and I dislike any cherry flavored soft drink. I think artificial cherry flavoring tastes very chemical and is reminiscent of some kind of toilet-cleaning substance. My husband, otoh, loves cherry flavored drinks.
PS - You should try diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Mountain Dew next!
You should try diet Dr. Pepper
Seconded, if only so I can see the faces of absolute horror you pull !

While still in NZ, I wasn't sure, but a lady I will describe as a "diet-Coke-with-lime pusher" invited me to try some, so I did. I was delighted and impressed, and I've been drinking it regularly ever since. Except when I can't get it from ASDA online. (ASDA is owned by WAL*Mart.) Which is most of the time at the moment. Cherry, on the other hand. Sweet and sickly and not at all nice. By the way, Coca-Cola New Zealand briefly sold diet Coke with raspberry. If you see this, avoid, avoid, avoid. Nobody liked it and it was removed from sale almost immediately AFAIK IIRC.
Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper beats all...
Although the jury is still out on Coke Blak... I wasn't willing to commit to a four-pack unless I drank one bottle first.

I like Meg's "You're leaving me for Diet Coke?" pout.

Fantastic pictures :D
Regarding the middle picture... Bill Gates called, and he wants his diet coke back ;)
You made me laugh before going into work. As a result, the day is looking up!
That is a most fantastic face that you're making.
I'm not sure the upper scale was anywhere near as hgih a target as the last review. On the other hand failing to reach such targets just about says it all. :)
Suffice to say, I spluttered some of my breakfast milk over my laptop. Not good when you're eating honey and raisin oat clusters.
Hee! You guys are so cute :D

I saw that you had mentioned that you found The Ghosts Of Oxford Street on a BitTorrent site. I have been trying to find that film forever. I would love to download it also. I was just curious where you were able to find it? Cheers, Benjiebollox@yahoo.co.uk
