Suppose you have a table in Excel that you would like to convert into raw HTML, but raw HTML that you would actually dare include in a web page as opposed to Microsoft HTML with loads of stylistic padding and other useless junk. Simply save your table as a HTML file, then load the file into a text editor. Perform a search and replace, searching for the regular expression <tr[^>]*> and replacing it with <tr> - ditto for the td tags. Result: a very ordinary table which you can style or leave unstyled as you like.

No punchline.
Current Mood: iffy, but at least working

I would copy the table in Excel, then paste on a Word doc and save it there as HTML. In fact, I've done it before -- when I ranked the Game Shows '75 sites monthly by how many hits each show/page got, for example.
